Man Found Dead In Basement After Lawndale House Burns

CHICAGO (CBS)-- A man was found dead in a house fire in the Lawndale neighborhood in the early morning hours Monday.

Fire crews responded to the house fire at 3927 W. Fillmore St., near and Pulaski Road, and found the 35-year-old man's body in the basement.

The man was identified by the Cook County Medical Examiner's office as Vernell Maurice Cleveland.

The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.
