Man Found Dead In Alley Might Be Victim Of Hit-And-Run

CHICAGO (STMW) -- A man died after he was found unresponsive in an alley late Sunday in the Avondale neighborhood on the North Side.

The person — thought to be in his 50s — was discovered near the 2900 block of North Milwaukee Avenue at 11:55 p.m., said police News Affairs Officer Ron Gaines. He was pronounced dead at the scene at 12:10 a.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.

The medical examiner's office did not release the man's name early Monday.

Gaines added that a car might have hit the person.

Meanwhile, the police Major Accidents Investigation Unit, which handles serious crashes involving vehicles, is investigating.
