Man Found Dead After Crystal Lake House Fire

(CBS) -- Fire crews in north suburban Crystal Lake arrived at a burning home Tuesday afternoon and discovered a man showing no signs of life who had been dragged from out of the house by a neighbor.

The fire department arrived at the home in in the 1100 block of North Shore Drive and quickly got the fire under control.

A passer-by noticed smoke coming from the home and alerted a neighbor, according to the fire department. That neighbor entered the home and dragged the man from the home.

The man was not a resident of the home and is believed to be a plumber who had been working in the home with a blow torch. It is not known if the man died prior to the fire.

None of the residents of the home were there at the time of the fire and no other injuries were reported.
