Man Fatally Struck By Train In Lockport

CHICAGO (CBS) -- A man was fatally struck by a train Tuesday night in southwest suburban Lockport.

Jacob A. Hegeduis, 20, was pronounced dead at 9 p.m. on the Canadian National Railroad tracks near West 2nd and North State streets in Lockport, according to the Will County coroner's office.

Hegeduis, who lived in Lockport, was crossing the tracks and was struck by a train, the coroner's office said. An autopsy was scheduled for Wednesday.

Lockport police, Amtrak police and Canadian National Railroad police are investigating the incident.
