Man Fatally Shot In Burnside

CHICAGO (CBS) -- A 21-year-old man was killed Wednesday morning when he was shot while driving in the Burnside neighborhood.

Police said the man was driving north on the 9300 block of South Greenwood Avenue around 10:30 a.m., when a gray sedan pulled up alongside him, and someone inside opened fire.

The victim was shot several times in the chest.

He kept driving for two blocks, before crashing in the 9100 block of South Greenwood Avenue.

The victim was transported to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he was pronounced dead.

No one was in custody for the shooting early Wednesday afternoon. Area South detectives were investigating.
