Man Falls To His Death At Water Tower Place

CHICAGO (STMW) -- A man fell to his death in the Water Tower Place mall in Streeterville on Monday night.

About 9 p.m., the man "fell or jumped" to the ground floor from the seventh floor atrium of the shopping center at 835 N. Michigan Ave., police News Affairs Officer Amina Greer said.

Paul R. Larochelle III, 27, was from Auburn, Mass., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office. He was a former student of Columbia College, spokeswoman Cara Birch confirmed.

His death appeared to be a suicide, the medical examiner's office said. An autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday.

The mall is opened for regular hours Tuesday, a spokesperson said.

Area Central detectives are investigating.
