Man Dies After Vehicle Hits Pole In Archer Heights

CHICAGO (STMW) -- A man died early Monday after the vehicle he was driving crashed in to a pole on the Southwest Side.

About 4:10 a.m., the 41-year-old driver was speeding near the corner of 41st Street and Pulaski Road in the Archer Heights neighborhood when his vehicle clipped another vehicle, police News Affairs Officer Janel Sedevic said. He then lost control of the vehicle, which crashed in to a pole, Sedevic said.

The man was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he later died, Sedevic said. No other injuries were reported.

The Cook County Medical Examiner's office confirmed the death but could not release any more details Monday morning.

Information on road closures or delays was not immediately available.
