Man Dies After I-94 Crash That Injured 3 More

CHICAGO (CBS) -- A south suburban man died three days after a single-car crash Saturday on I-94 that also left at least two others injured near the Chinatown neighborhood.

At 11:55 p.m., 27-year-old Deandre Cotton was driving north near the Chinatown feeder ramp when his vehicle hit a wall and rolled over, according to Illinois State Police.

Cotton, of the 1300 block of Dolton Avenue in Dolton, was taken to Stroger Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 1 p.m. Tuesday, according to the Cook County medical examiner's office.

Three other people in the car were were taken to a hospital, including two who underwent surgery for their injuries.

The crash is under investigation but "speed was a significant factor," an ISP spokesman said Wednesday night.
