Man Dies After Falling From Aqua Skyscraper

A man died early Monday after falling from the Radisson Blu Hotel/Aqua building downtown.

The 27-year-old fell from the 56th floor of a building in the 200 block of North Columbus Drive about 3 a.m., police said. Unconfirmed dispatch reports identified the building as the Aqua residential building at 221 N. Columbus Dr. and said the man fell on to the Radisson's pool deck, located under the apartment units.

The Cook County Medical Examiner's office confirmed the death but couldn't provide any more details.

Police are currently conducting a death investigation, but a source said the incident appears to be accidental.
