Man Dead Of Apparent Stab Wound On West Side

CHICAGO (STMW) -- A man died early Monday after he was found unresponsive on a sidewalk in the West Garfield Park neighborhood.

The 29-year-old man was found on the sidewalk about 2:50 a.m. in the 4000 block of West Maypole Avenue with what appeared to be a stab wound to the chest, police News Affairs Officer Hector Alfaro said.

The man, identified as Marvin Turner of the 4000 block of West Maypole Avenue, was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital and pronounced dead at 3:45 a.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.

No one is in custody as Area North detectives investigate.
