Man Critically Wounded In Washington Park Shooting

CHICAGO (STMW) -- A man was critically wounded in a shooting early Thursday in the Washington Park neighborhood on the South Side.

The 37-year-old man was driving in a vehicle in the 5800 block of South Wabash at 12:40 a.m. when he heard shots and realized he'd been hit, according to Chicago Police.

He suffered a gunshot wound to the right side and drove himself to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where he was listed in critical condition, police said.
