Man Critically Wounded In Lower West Side Shooting

CHICAGO (STMW) -- A man was shot and critically wounded Saturday morning on the Lower West Side.

The 24-year-old man walked into Mount Sinai Hospital about 11:40 a.m. with a gunshot wound to the abdomen, said police News Affairs Officer Veejay Zala. He was listed in critical condition.

The shooting may have occurred in the 2000 block of West 21st Place, Zala said.

The man is a known gang member, Zala said.

No one is in custody as Area Central detectives investigate.
