Man Charged With Shooting At Tow Truck Driver

CHICAGO (STMW) -- A South Side man is accused of allegedly shooting at a tow truck driver near his Auburn Gresham home on Saturday.

Roderick Myers, 24, was charged with aggravated discharge of a firearm at an occupied vehicle, a felony, police said.

At 2:55 a.m. Saturday, Myers allegedly fired a handgun toward a 43-year-old man driving a tow truck in the 8100 block of South Ashland Avenue, police said. Myers lives in the same block.

The driver was not struck, police said. Myers was later identified as the shooter.

Myers was ordered held on $500,000 bond on Sunday, according to the Cook County sheriff's office. His next court appearance is scheduled for Feb. 27.
