(STMW) -- A South Side man has been charged with shooting and seriously wounding a 16-year-old boy last month in the South Side Woodlawn neighborhood.

Lawrence Longstreet, 19, faces a felony count of aggravated battery with a firearm for the attack that happened about 1:15 p.m. on Feb. 16 in the 6200 block of South Cottage Grove, according to a Chicago Police statement.

The boy was shot in the back and taken in serious condition to the University of Chicago Medical Center. He was uncooperative with investigators and no further details were available, police sources said at the time.
