Man Charged With Sexually Assaulting Woman On Red Line Platform

CHICAGO (STMW) -- A north suburban man charged with sexually assaulting a woman on a North Side Red Line platform Sunday is suspected of other similar attacks, police said.

Barry A. Marquez, 28, of Evanston has been charged with one felony count of sexual criminal abuse, according to Chicago Police.

Marquez was arrested Sunday after he sexually assaulted a 19-year-old woman at 5:15 p.m. on the North/Clybourn station at 1599 N. Clybourn Ave., police said.

Police said Marquez may be responsible for other similar incidents, but would not give specific details. Anyone with information should contact Area Central detectives at (312) 747-8380.

Marquez, of the 2300 block of Bradley Place in Evanston, was expected to appear in bond court Tuesday.
