Man Charged With Sex Abuse Of Woman On CTA Train

CHICAGO (CBS) -- A man was charged with aggravated battery and sexual abuse after a "sexually related incident" in a train car in Lincoln Park last spring.

Juan Juarez, 47 of the 4800 block of West Barry, was charged with two counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse and two counts of aggravated battery after the incident on May 1, police announced late Thursday.

A 64-year-old woman was on a train car in the 2000 block of North Sheffield at 8:05 a.m. when a man entered a train car and stood next to her, police said. After the doors closed, he moved closer to her so his groin was touching her back.

The woman later saw the man "aroused" as he moved into another train car, police said.

Juarez was taken into police custody Oct. 15 at 7:45 a.m. in the 900 block of West Belmont, police said.
