Man Charged With Raping Boy In Forest Preserve

CHICAGO (CBS) -- A Southwest Side man has been charged with sexually assaulting a 16-year-old boy Sunday night in the Cermak Woods forest preserve in west suburban Lyons.

Armando Robles, 46, faces one count of criminal sexual assault and one count of aggravated criminal sexual abuse, according to a statement from the Cook County sheriff's office.

Sometime between 9 p.m. and 10:30 p.m., the teenage boy was approached by Robles near the pool at Cermak Woods in the 7600 block of Ogden Avenue in Lyons, police said.

Robles, who didn't know the teen, told the boy he was armed, forced him to drink alcohol and then sexually assaulted him, police said.

Robles, of the 6400 block of South Hamlin Avenue, was ordered held on a $500,000 bond Thursday during a hearing at the Bridgeview Courthouse. He is next scheduled to appear in court Oct. 4.
