Man Charged With Portage Park Stabbing

CHICAGO (STMW) -- A Northwest Side man has been charged with seriously wounding another man in a Portage Park neighborhood stabbing late Friday.

Noe Pereda, 30, got into an argument with the 29-year-old man about 10:30 p.m. in the 3600 block of North Menard Avenue, according to Chicago Police.

Pereda then pulled out a knife and stabbed him repeatedly in the torso, back and arm, police said.

He was taken in serious condition to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, police said.

Pereda, of the 5700 block of West Grand, was arrested after the attack and later charged with a felony count of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, police said.

He was ordered held on $100,000 bond Sunday.
