Man Charged With North Side Crash-And-Grab Burglary

(STMW) -- A man has been charged in connection with a crash-and-grab burglary last month in the North Side Lincoln Park neighborhood.

Javon Sellers, 24, is charged with one count of felony burglary, according to Chicago Police.

Sellers was part of a group who allegedly crashed a minivan into the Best Buy store in the 2600 block of North Clark a few minutes before 5 a.m. on Jan. 4 and got away with several items, police said.

Several males got out of the van, went in the store and stole various items before running away, police said.

It wasn't immediately clear whether the robbery was connected to a series of other crash-and-grab burglaries in the Chicago area over the past several months.

Sellers was scheduled to appear in bond court Sunday. Court information was not immediately available.
