Man Charged With Kidnapping Woman In Little Village

CHICAGO (STMW) -- A man has been charged with kidnapping a woman Friday morning in the Little Village neighborhood on the Southwest Side.

Juan Robles, 35, approached the 20-year-old woman from behind and grabbed her waist at 8:15 a.m. in the 2700 block of South Keeler Avenue, according to a statement from Chicago Police. The woman fell backward and started yelling for help while Robles started pulling her.

A witness saw the incident and helped release the woman from Robles' grasp, police said. He was held at the scene until police arrived and took him into custody.

The woman suffered multiple abrasions but refused medical treatment, according to police.

Robles, of the3100 block of South Keeler, was charged with one felony count of kidnapping by force, police said. He was expected to appear in bond court Saturday.
