Man Charged With July Shooting

(STMW) -- A man has been charged with shooting a woman this summer in the Chatham neighborhood on the South Side.

Travis Dunn, 20, is charged with one felony count of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon for the July 8 shooting, according to a statement from Chicago Police.

Dunn shot at a passing vehicle about 1:20 p.m. in the 900 block of East 83rd, police said. The bullet went through the vehicle's rear window and hit an 18-year-old woman in the back of the head.

She was driven to University of Chicago Medical Center in critical condition after the shooting before being transferred to Mount Sinai Hospital, police said.

Dunn, of the 500 block of East 50th Place, is expected to appear in bond court Saturday, according to police.
