Man Charged With Hitting Infant Girl In Head With Concrete

CHICAGO (STMW) -- Charges were filed against a South Side man who police say threw a piece of concrete through a window in West Englewood last week, injuring a 7-month-old girl.

Jeremy O'Neal, 25, was charged with one count of aggravated battery to a child under 13 causing permanent disability, according to a statement issued by Chicago Police early Friday.

About 8:20 p.m. on May 3, O'Neal was involved in a domestic dispute in the 1400 block of West 73rd Place, police said. While outside, O'Neal threw a piece of concrete through a window that struck a 7-month-old girl in the head.

The girl was taken to Comer Children's Hospital, where her condition has stabilized, police said.

O'Neal, of the 9500 block of South Houston, is scheduled to appear in bond court Friday.
