CHICAGO (STMW) -- A man has been charged with robbing a video game store at gunpoint Sunday afternoon in the West Chatham neighborhood on the South Side.

Deon Gillespie, 34, of the 400 block of East Oakwood Boulevard, faces two counts of robbery armed with a firearm and one count of unlawful use of a weapon by a felon, all felonies, according to Chicago Police.

About 12:05 p.m. Oct. 25, Gillespie walked into the video game and electronics store in the 8300 block of South Holland Road and, armed with a handgun, announced a robbery, police said.

He then ran away with merchandise, cash and an employee's cell phone, police said.

Investigators later found Gillespie standing outside near a vehicle in the 600 block of East 42nd Street and he was positively identified as the robber, police said. All of the proceeds were recovered.

On Tuesday, Gillespie was ordered held on a $500,000 bond, according to the Cook County sheriff's office. He was next scheduled to appear in court Nov. 2.
