Man Charged In Grisly Murder Of Woman In Apartment Laundry Room

(CBS) --An apartment laundry room became a murder scene Wednesday in Joliet. Police say they captured murder suspect Drumaine McKinley hiding after making the grisly discovery.

Police say 20-year-old Jocelyn Woods was found dead inside the laundry room early Wednesday morning reportedly stabbed several times. Her was body apparently discovered by a resident of the building.

"When I left about 8:30 this morning for work I looked around I just see police cars, yellow tape everywhere," said Damaria Bates.

Hours later, Joliet Police arrested Drumaine McKinley, 35, for her murder after they found him hiding in bushed near his home. People who live in the apartment building neither he or Wood live there but may have gotten in through an open back door.

The Illinois Department of Corrections currently lists McKinley as currently being on parole. He also has an extensive criminal history.

"It is very scary to be in a building where someone was actually murdered," Bates said.

An autopsy on Woods' body will be performed Thursday. At this point, it is unclear how or if Woods and her alleged killer knew each other.
