Man Charged In February Shooting In Little Village

CHICAGO (STMW) -- A man has been charged with the shooting of an 18-year-old earlier this year in the Little Village neighborhood on the Southwest Side.

Giovanni Hernandez, 18, was charged with felony counts of aggravated battery with the discharge of a firearm, aggravated assault with discharge of firearm and aggravated discharge of a firearm, according to Chicago Police.

An 18-year-old was wounded when he was shot Feb. 15 in the 2700 block of South Pulaski, police said. He was shot several times in the groin and thigh and taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition.

Hernandez, of the 2700 block of South Millard, was arrested about 7:45 p.m. Sunday in the 2300 block of South Troy in connection with the shooting, police said.

Hernandez is scheduled to appear in bond court Tuesday.
