Man Charged In Fatal West Englewood Shooting

CHICAGO (STMW) -- A man charged with murder in connection with a shooting that left a man dead and another wounded earlier this week in West Englewood was ordered held without bond.

Camron Howard, 18, was charged with one count each of first-degree murder and aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, according to a statement from Chicago Police.

Howard, of the 8100 block of South Loomis, was ordered held without bond Saturday.

Two men, ages 28 and 38, were outside about 10:30 p.m. Thursday in the 6400 block of South Damen when someone walked up to them with a gun and started shooting, police said at the time.

The younger man was shot in the head and pronounced dead at the scene, police said. His identity had not been released as of Saturday morning.

The older man was shot in the left leg and taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where his condition was stabilized.

Howard is next scheduled to appear in court Monday.
