CHICAGO (STMW) -- A man has been charged with stabbing another man early Monday in the Northwest Side Belmont-Cragin neighborhood.

Jose Garcia, 40, faces one count of first-degree attempted murder and failure to appear in court, according to Chicago Police.

Garcia allegedly stabbed a 37-year-old male during a dispute at 3:10 a.m. in the 5300 block of West Wellington Avenue, police said.

The man was taken in serious condition to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center with a stab wound to the abdomen, police said.
