Man Attempts Sexual Assault, Exposes Himself In Greater Grand Crossing

CHICAGO (STMW) -- Police are warning people on the South Side of a man who exposed himself and attempted to sexually assault a female last week in the Greater Grand Crossing neighborhood.

On March 10, the man exited a white Cadillac and approached the victim while she was waiting at a bus stop about 9:15 a.m. in the 6700 block of South Martin Luther King Drive, according to a community alert from Chicago Police.

The man grabbed the female by the arm and pushed her into a nearby building, where he pulled down his pants and exposed himself, police said.

She pulled out a knife, and the suspect jumped back in the Cadillac, police said. He was last seen driving westbound on Marquette Road.

The suspect is described as a black man, between the ages of 25 and 35 years old, standing about 5-foot-10, weighing about 250 pounds, with dreadlocks and a dark brown complexion, police said. He was wearing a black jacket, blue pants and black Nike gym shoes.

Anyone with information on the attack should contact Area Central detectives at (312) 747-8380.
