Man Arrested In Connection With NW Indiana Teen's Stabbing Death

(CBS) -- Police say they have arrested a man after two teens were stabbed, one fatally, Tuesday night in northwest Indiana.

17-year-old Alton Brown from unincorporated Hanover Township and am 18-year-old man were stabbed after an altercation in Cedar Lake, police said. Brown was transported to St. Anthony's Medical Center where he died from his wounds. The other victim, an 18-year-old man, was transported to St. Anthony's where he is listed in stable condition. Both victims were students at Hanover Central High School in Cedar Lake.

Cedar Lake police say the altercation came after two vehicles were allegedly chasing one another around to the south end of Cedar Lake to northbound Lauerman. One of the vehicles apparently stopped to talk to two people on the side of the road when police said it was struck from behind by the other vehicle and an altercation followed..

Police have arrested a 19-year-old man they say was the driver of the second vehicle.

No other arrests have been made and police are continuing to investigate the incident.
