Man Arrested For Attacking Senior On Yellow Line Train

SKOKIE, Ill. (STMW) -- A Chicago man has been charged with attacking a senior citizen on a CTA Yellow Line train last month.

Ganaa Otgoo, 32, of the 1400 block of South Canal Street was charged with one count of aggravated battery for the March 28 attack, according to Skokie Police.

Otgoo boarded the train and began yelling at passengers, according to a statement from police. He directed a comment toward the elderly man, who told Otgoo to leave him alone. Otgoo then approached the man, pulled his jacket over his head, and punched and kicked him, police said.

The victim suffered "severe bruising" and was taken to a hospital as a result of the incident, police said.

Otgoo's bond was set at $15,000 and he is next scheduled to appear in court May 2 in Skokie.

Any witnesses to the incident are asked to call Skokie police at (847) 982-5900.
