Man, 73, Killed In Aurora Crash

AURORA, Ill. (STMW) -- A Sugar Grove man was killed after the pickup he was driving crashed into a pole in west suburban Aurora Friday afternoon.

Robert Lambert, 73, was driving southbound on Densmore south of Hankes when his truck left the road and struck a utility pole about 5:15 p.m., according to a statement from the Kane County Sheriff's office.

Lambert, of the 300 block of Maple Avenue in Sugar Grove, was pronounced dead at the scene, the sheriff's office sad.

No other vehicles were involved in the crash, and the cause of the crash remained under investigation Saturday morning, according to the sheriff's office.
