Man, 66, Fatally Shot In Gage Park

CHICAGO (STMW) -- A 66-year-old man was killed after he was shot in the chest Saturday afternoon in the Gage Park neighborhood on the South Side.

The shooting, which "appeared to be robbery related," occurred about 2 p.m. in the 2300 block of West 57th Street, police News Affairs Officer Veejay Zala said, citing preliminary information.

The man,identified as Herbert Goode, was pronounced dead at 2:48 p.m. at Mount Sinai Hospital, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office. His death has been ruled a homicide, according to the medical examiner's office.

No one is in custody as Area South detectives investigate.
