Man, 60, Shot And Killed In Roseland

CHICAGO (STMW) -- A 60-year-old man was shot to death in the Roseland neighborhood on the Far South Side on Wednesday night.

About 7:20 p.m., Bernard Monroe found lying on the ground in the 11400 block of South Prairie Avenue with a gunshot wound to the head, according to police and the Cook County medical examiner's office.

Monroe was pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said. He lived on the block where he was killed.

About three hours earlier, a 23-year-old man was shot and killed a mile west in the 11300 block of South Parnell, authorities said.
