Major Comcast Outage In West Suburbs After Utility Pole Is Knocked Down

CHICAGO (CBS) -- Comcast customers in the western suburbs experienced a major outage Monday night.

Construction crews knocked down a utility pole in Elmhurst, severing a fiber line.

That knocked out cable, internet, and phone service to thousands of homes in La Grange Park, Forest Park, Oak Park, Berwyn, Brookfield, Riverside, and Hillside.

Comcast said it did not know how long it would take to repair the line.
