18-Year-Old Man In Critical Condition After Shooting On Lower Wacker Drive

CHICAGO (CBS)-- An 18-year-old man is in critical condition after a shooting on Lower Wacker Drive in the Loop Sunday morning.

According to police, the 18-year-old driver, and his girlfriend, were being followed by several unknown vehicles in the 0-99 block of North Lower Wacker Drive just after 7 a.m.

Police said shots were fired from the unknown vehicle, and the 18-year-old was shot in the neck. He was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital.

The man's girlfriend was not hurt.

No one was in custody as of late Sunday afternoon and police were investigating.

This was the second shooting on Lower Wacker Drive this weekend alone.

At 3:30 a.m. Saturday, a 29-year-old man was traveling as a passenger in a car at an unspecified location on Lower Wacker Drive, when he heard several shots and felt pain. The man was shot once in the right knee and was taken to Stroger Hospital of Cook County, where his condition was stabilized.
