Logan Square's 'Can't Pay Cafe' Helps Those Affected By Pandemic

CHICAGO (CBS) -- Unemployed restaurant workers fighting for benefits used free coffee to help get their message out today.

The "Can't Pay Cafe" set up shop in Logan Square Park, handing out free coffee and free food.

Out of work restaurant workers used the pop-up shop to raise awareness about their struggle to pay the bills.

Organizers are calling on lawmakers to extend the federal government's extra $600 a week in unemployment benefits during the pandemic.
