Logan Square School Burglarized Three Times In Two Months

CHICAGO (STMW) -- A school in the Logan Square neighborhood on the Northwest Side has been burglarized three times in the last two months, prompting police to issue a community alert.

St. Sylvester School, located at 3027 W. Palmer Sq., was broken into on Sept. 5 about 3 a.m., on Sept. 25 about 6 p.m. and most recently on Oct. 17 about 12:10 a.m., according to police.

In each instance, video surveillance captured two or three suspects cutting the screen out of a side window and entering the school before stealing property inside, police said.

The two or three suspects are believed to be males — possibly Hispanic — between the ages of 13 and 20, police said. They wore gloves, hats, hoods and sunglasses and fled on bicycles after the burglaries.

Anyone with information is asked to call Area North detectives at (312) 744-8263.
