Listen: 'Cubs Score' By Tributosaurus

(CBS) With the Cubs moving to the 670 The Score airwaves in this 2016 season, program director Mitch Rosen asked host Matt Spiegel to take a crack at some music the pregame and postgame shows. Spiegel brought the offer to his band, which worked on a few different demos. Rosen and production director Russ Mitera picked the one they liked best, and the winning idea was fleshed out into a full single.

"Cubs Score" was written and produced in the Oak Park basement of Tributosaurus guitarist Curt Morrison. All five members of the Tributosaurus core are on it: Dan Leali played the drums, Jon Paul the bass and Chris Neville the organ. Neville also created the percussion loop heard clearly at the beginning, incorporating baseball sounds. Spiegel recorded the vocal with Sam Fishkin at the Mix Kitchen studios. Fishkin also did the mastering.

Yes, the chant sections are indeed an homage to "Go, Cubs, Go."

The song in its full 2:30 form will soon be available anywhere music is downloaded and/or sold: Spotify, iTunesApple MusicGoogle Play, Amazon, Rdio, Deezer, Tidal, YouTube, Microsoft Groove, MediaNet. Just search for "Cubs Score" by Tributosaurus.
