Life Story Of McDonald's Founder Ray Kroc Coming To The Big Screen
(CBS) -- The life story of a Chicago-area business icon is coming to the big screen.
Production has begun on "The Founder" which tells the story of Ray Kroc, the Oak Park native who turned McDonald's into the world's most famous fast-food chain.
Michael Keaton will play Kroc, who was a milkshake dispenser salesman who worked with the McDonald brothers, at their burger operation in California in the 1950s.
Kroc was impressed by the brothers' speedy system. He eventually bought the franchise and we all know what happened after that.
"Variety" reports "the Founder's" story was developed in the vein of "The Social Network," and also will star Nick Offerman, Linda Cardellini, Laura Dern and B.J. Novak.
It's due in theaters in August.
