Levine: White Sox's Abreu Avoids Major Injury

(CBS) Upon further examination after being placed on the 15-day disabled list Sunday, White Sox first baseman Jose Abreu doesn't have any major structural damage in his left ankle, 670 The Score's Bruce Levine reported Monday afternoon.

The White Sox said yesterday that Abreu has posterior tibia tendonitis in his left ankle, but the extent of the injury wasn't for certain. Now, the main concern is inflammation, Levine reported. There were no tears of any serious sort.

He leads the AL with 15 homers and 42 RBIs.
