Lansing Man Charged With South Chicago Slaying

CHICAGO (CBS) -- A 22-year-old man has been charged with fatally shooting a 25-year-old man four months ago in the South Chicago neighborhood.

Rondale Parker allegedly shot Laron McCoy in the head about 1:15 p.m. July 5 during an argument over a car in the 8100 block of South Burnham, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner's office.

McCoy, of the 9700 block of South Luella, died at South Shore Hospital, authorities said.

An arrest warrant was issued for Parker on Aug. 24, and he was taken into custody earlier this week. Court records list his home address in the 3700 block of 174th Court in south suburban Lansing.

A judge ordered Parker held without bond at a Thursday hearing, records show. His next court date is Dec. 6.
