Lanes On Bishop Ford Reopened After Six Injured In Crash

(CBS) -- All lanes have re-opened on the Bishop Ford after a wrong-way driver caused a crash that sent six people to the hospital.

The crash was serious enough that first responders landed a helicopter on the freeway. CBS 2's Jeremy Ross reports one person was transported in critical condition.

The Illinois State Police say it started on the northbound Bishop Ford near 159th Street around 2:30 a.m. Saturday.

Investigators believe a wrong way driver there struck at least one car head-on. The impact carried enough force to apparently spray debris on both sides of the median including a small SUV crossover with air bags deployed. At least six cars were involved in the collision.
