Lane Closures On I-80 Bridge In Joliet Begin Monday

(STMW) -- Lane closures on I-80 over the Des Plaines River in southwest suburban Joliet are scheduled to begin Monday for routine bridge inspection.

Two lanes will be open to traffic on westbound I-80 two miles east of Larkin Avenue. As the inspection continues, two lanes on eastbound I-80 will be open in the same area, according to a statement from the Illinois Department of Transportation.

The inspections should be completed by May 7, according to the statement.

Drivers should expect traffic delays and plan for extra travel time through this area.
