Lockdown Lifted At Lake Villa Schools

CHICAGO (CBS) -- A soft lockdown that was in place most of the day at three elementary schools in north suburban Lake Villa was lifted early Thursday afternoon.

Officials at Lake Villa District 41 said Palombi Middle School, Thompson Elementary School, and Martin Elementary School were placed on soft lockdown Thursday morning, due to an ongoing police search for a suspect who had fled the nearby town of Round Lake Beach, following a domestic incident.

Although that suspect had not been captured as of 1 p.m., officials said the lockdown was lifted. Police said they know who the suspect is, and were preparing an arrest warrant.
