Lake Shore Drive To Close For Repaving In Gold Coast

(STMW) -- The southbound lanes of Lake Shore Drive will be closed in parts of the Gold Coast Sunday and Monday night as crews work to repave lanes.

From 8:15 p.m. Sunday until 5:45 a.m. Monday, Lake Shore will be closed south of the Oak Street S-Curve, according to the Chicago Department of Transportation. The road will be closed for the same time period form Monday night into Tuesday morning.

Southbound traffic will be detoured at Michigan Avenue to eastbound Randolph, according to CDOT. Chicago Avenue access to and from Lake Shore Drive will be open and the exit ramp at Chestnut will be closed.

While the repaving of northbound lanes from Grand to North Avenue has been completed, lane marking work remains, according to CDOT. That work may take place during the overnight hours next week, weather permitting.
