Kyle Schwarber Home Run Ball Moved From Top Of RF Scoreboard

(CBS) The home run ball that Cubs outfielder Kyle Schwarber seemingly sent halfway to space in Game 4 of the NLDS in October that settled on top of the right-field scoreboard at Wrigley Field has been removed from there, the Chicago Tribune reported.

The Cubs encased the ball with plastic after the homer and left it atop the scoreboard for the duration of the postseason. At some point since then, the ball has been taken down and put in a "safe, secure place" in the team's possession, Cubs spokesman Julian Green told the Tribune. The club hasn't yet decided what it wants to do with the ball moving forward.

Schwarber hasn't expressed a desire to have the ball yet. With the Cubs Convention awaiting this weekend, perhaps more developments will come about a home run ball that will love on in Cubs lore for years.
