Kraft Heinz Will Pay $62 Million Related To 'Years-Long Accounting Scheme'

CHICAGO (CBS) -- Chicago-based Kraft Heinz is shelling out $62 million in a new settlement.

It's related to what the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission called a "years-long accounting scheme."

The misconduct happened over a three-year period beginning in 2015 and includes faking contracts with suppliers.

Regulators say the goal was to make financials look better to investors.
