Kevin Youkilis Joins Cubs As A Special Assistant

(CBS) Kevin Youkilis is joining the Cubs as a special assistant.

Youkilis has a history with Cubs president of baseball operations Theo Epstein, having played in Boston from 2004-'12. Epstein started working for the Red Sox in 2002 and became their general manager before leaving for his job with the Cubs in October 2011.

Youkilis played in Japan last season before officially retiring in October.
