Kate Upton Is Really Salty Over Justin Verlander Finishing 2nd In Cy Young Race

(CBS) Tigers right-hander Justin Verlander came up just short in the American League Cy Young race, finishing second to Red Sox right-hander Rick Porcello by just five points.

Model and actress Kate Upton, Verlander's fiancee, wasn't happy with the result, and she made her feelings known -- initially with a hilarious tweet, then with either astonishment over the voting system.

Upton's beef was that Verlander finished with 14 first-place votes, while Porcello only had eight. Where Porcello made up his points with with 18 second-place votes. Verlander only had eight second-place votes and was left off two of the 30 ballots.

The system is weighted 7-4-3-2-1 as voters cast ballots for the top five finishers.

Verlander went 16-9 with a 3.04 ERA and 1.00 WHIP. Porcello was 22-4 with a 3.15 ERA and 1.01 WHIP. Verlander and Porcello each finished with a 5.2, per Fangraphs.

Verlander's brother, Ben, was also upset.
