Juvenile Electrocuted After Climbing On Top Of Metra Train

UNIVERSITY PARK, Ill. (CBS) -- A 13-year-old boy was electrocuted Sunday night, after two juveniles broke into a Metra rail yard in south suburban University Park.

CBS 2's Susanna Song reports, around 7 p.m. Sunday, two juveniles snuck into the rail yard at the University Park station along the Metra Electric Line.

One of them climbed on top of a train, and was electrocuted. The Electric District is the only Metra line on which trains are powered by overhead power cables.

Electric District trains were halted for nearly two hours after the boy's death.

The Will County Coroner's Office has identified the victim as Marcellus Martin of Chicago.
